既然聖保祿的心是耶穌基督的心，這就表示聖保祿實在已經與導師耶穌的心合而為一了。他真是一位司鐸，從事最廣泛的使徒工作，為尋找各地的民族，引導他們獲得救恩。他甚至於不辭種種犧牲、危險和監獄之苦，竟向刑役伸首而捨生殉道。
聖保祿表示他是「外邦人的教師」。他不僅是對於各種民族，都能普遍顧及，而且對於學識，也是無所不曉，涵蓋一切。在他的書信裡，尤其是當他執行神職時，他所講的道理具有一種特殊的韻調。他是一位「向普世宣講真道者」。他是一位「導師」，如同他自己這樣稱呼自己。他是福音最忠實的解釋者，給整個人類提出了福音，並把他應用在個人的、家庭的和社會的一切需要上。他的道理，散見於全部的信理神學裡，給倫理學照射光明，對於禮儀的主要問題，能起決定性的作用；同樣他的使徒工作，按照導師的旨意，制定了教會的實際組織法。聖經從來不是只向那些與作者同時的人講話，而是對所有的人，對未來的世世代代講話。讓我們讚美導師耶穌；因為祂給聖保祿啟示了「天主的各樣智慧」。讓我們也感謝祂；因為祂以聖保祿為「蒙選的器皿和外邦人的導師」。讓我們也要恆心地求祂；因為祂是生命、知識之源和使徒的工作的導師。
